1. Stay at least for 3Days 2Nights
To get the best moment and experience in exploring the Toba Lake, you have to stay at least 3Days 2Nights. It is the great time that you must have especially if you don’t want to miss even an interesting thing that lake and the places around it.
It is counted by arriving in this lake in the morning whether from the Silangit Airport or from Medan. In the morning, you have to arrive it in Parapat Island where it is a gate to start your journey in the Lake Toba.
The local tourists usually will enjoy the lake by soaking or swimming in the lake, riding the duck boat and having a party.
2. Cross the Lake and Visit the Samosir Island
Samosir Island has so many cultures and arts that you can enjoy. This island is mostly lived by the Batak race. In the Lake Toba, you can use the ship that is available in the Tiga Ras Harbor or Ajibata Port.
The tourists are usually preferred to use the Tiga Ras Harbor because they can stop at a place to watch the Batu Gantung (the hanging stone) legend.
3. Enjoying the Grilled Fish and Sambal Tuk Tuk
On the way back home from Lake Toba, you have to stop at the Tongging area where it is a village in the side of the lake that is popular for its fish menu.
In that place, you can see so many restaurants or small stalls that serve the grilled, Naniura and the sambal tuk-tuk. Naniura itself is a fish menu that is cooked with some ingredients and it will be served in the raw condition (it is almost similar to sushi).
4. Stop at the Berastagi Fruit Market
If you want to, you can take the different track on the way you come back to your hotel. You will pass some destination areas in the North Sumatera which are well known for its plantation products such as the vegetables and fruits.
You can stop at the Berastagi Fruit Shop and eat the grilled corn there.
